Develop an audience - and build community - through co-operation and co-promotion with like minded organizations.
You can create 'combined calendars' to merge events from multiple sources.
The idea behind cross promotion
Publicdrum allows you to easily do this - by creating a 'combined' calendar that 'aggregates' events from any number of feeds you select.
Example 1: Build awareness of a specific subject.
On my website (Ten Pound Fiddle), I have two calendars, one displays our music events - and a second one (menu pick 'Info/Community Calendar) displays other Michigan Events we think might interest our visitors.
Key Point: My viewers learn about other community events - and I can ask the other organizations to display my events. We both gain wider exposure through co-operation.
Example 2: Connect a community.
Imagine if there was a single calendar showing all the events in a community - public school, clubs, civic, commercial, supers etc. This can easily be done: each organization maintaining their events and then you aggregate all their feeds and display the result on a web page.
The community would soon find this resource indispensable - and the contributors would reach far beyond their regular media, web or email event announcements.
How to do it:
It's easy - click 'How to create a combined calendar' to get started!
